LACMA Mid Century Design Exhibit pt 1

This evening I traveled to LACMA for the California Mid Century Exhibit.
It was a Thursday and the museum was open late. We met up at 6:30 and I was surprised that if you were an LA resident, you got in free!

You walk into a large breath of space where it has been transformed into a kitcky 50s tasting space itself. It's wavy gravy, man.

Yes, that is an airstream in the distance :)

I want this desk. Its left sided and awesome.

Yeah, let the awesomeness of these sink in.

For Peter :)

The green skirt/BAITINGSUIT is a waxed cotton.

I am going to make this outfit. Seriously.

There is much more, let me tell you. The exhibit is wonderfully curated and you are able to get close to the work and just admire. It's a very well done show and such a treat. If you are in the area, you should drop by. WhatI took photos of is only a fraction of the exhibit. It will be there until June.

I'll post more tomorrow!

  2. Oh my goodness. That exhibit looks out of this world. I am in awe of the lobster swimsuit. It's probably for the best that I'm unable to see it in person. They'd have to throw me out of there.
