I moved!

Hello lovely people!
I know I have been out of it for a while, but these last few weeks are because I moved to a new place.
I didn't plan on moving, but a real nice opportunity came up and I decided I needed a change. I was tired of spending all my time on gathering rent and no time to play or work on other projects, and now I have that breathing room.

I moved to San Gabriel, a few miles past Pasadena. Still the "LA" area. It will take some getting used to, as the area is not as walkable as my old location, but I figure I can give it a year to save some cash and focus on some of my own projects and then see where I am.

Its one room, so I had to pair down, but I've got all I need. My computer, my drawing desk, and my sewing machines all set up. PLUS....

Brian has a yard!!!

It took him a bit to get used to the place, but I think he'll like it.

As a treat I got to wear my dress to a fun shindig last week.

(My pictures will most likely be like this now :) )

We went to Don the Beachcomer's and saw two bands, Leftover Cuties and Petunia and the Vipers. Great bands to dance to.

So that's what I've been up to. It's been a lot these last few weeks. Got some side jobs, had a job interview (It's in Hollywood! LOL) and I'm gearing up to getting back into Vintageville. I have so much story left to tell on that and I really want to continue. Now that some stress is gone, I feel I have the opportunity to do it again!

There are also some interesting things I'm prepping for the new year.
Okay lovely people, I'll be posting more soon, just wanted to give a heads up on where I was.
Keep me in your thoughts.
Have a great day!

  2. How great for you! Financial stress really affects creativity and social life. I know this personally. So happy for you and Brian. Your yard looks like a great place to be.

  3. It is really nice to have a yard. I keep my door open all day so I can watch Brian outside. :)

  4. Hey, there's yard for you as well. I am assuming you and several others are in this house. As much as I always enjoyed living alone, I find I function better with others around. I hope this works for you as well. And a yard!

  5. Yes, SJ. Im living with three other people. Its not a shared house, but more like they are living on the property as well as me.
And true, living around other people has already changed my sleeping habits. :)

  6. Having a yard will be great for both you and Brian. I live in a 1950s bachelor flat (a single room, with tiny kitchen & a 5' square bathroom). It's so much more affordable on my own.

  7. Yay! Lucky you AND Brian. I hope it works out for you.
I did get to go to Don the Beachcomber's when I visited Cali but they had just opened in the afternoon so it wasn't quite as jazzy as it is at night I bet.
