Happy Monday one and all.
Hope you had a lovely weekend. Mine started with a long walk to the pet wash so Brian could get nice and clean with his medicated shampoo. He was stellar by the way.
After a chilly few winter weeks (for Los Angeles that is) it was nice to get back to 70 degree sunny days. These past few days have been nice and signaling spring ahead.
Over the weekend I had some of my gal friends come over and give me a slew of mending and alterations. I also fixed a pair of 40s trousers.
It seems the side zipper was a bit extroverted creating a bad line down the pant's front view.
The flap of the zipper placket folded inward. |
The excess folded under and tacked. |
I also decided to make another beret. I used the last of the un-dyed wool from my raspberry beret, and made a cream one.
Finishing off the details with some branches I bought from JoAnns of all places, I made what I feel is a really stellar example of the repro pattern. I can't get enough of these berets. This is the fourth one I've made and I wear them all.
I also finished my cotton velvet dress.
I'm still on this wrap dress phase, and this one is one of the more lavish versions. I paneled the drape of the skirt with a bright rayon.
The look of this dress is great, and I even had a matching beret to go with it!
Brain likes it too.
Have a great day!!
