I did a mock up of the repro pattern of my
WWII 40s dress. The interesting thing about this dress is the back is gathered creating a somewhat boxy bodice. Im going to make it according to the directions, and then on the next one, if I don't like it, Ill add some darts.

Here is the mock up. I didn't have to do much alteration and Im excited to see how the solid panels on the front will look.

The material is a cotton flower print, and the purple is a sateen. It does not look to exciting just cut out, right? I haven't thought about what types of buttons Im going to use. Oh, decisions, decisions.
I like that tiny bit of detail at the top of the sleeves. very sweet and I look forward to seeing the completed dress!
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely. Can't wait to see it completed.
ReplyDeleteLove that floral fabric. I think this will look great when you get it sewn up. Very excited to see the finished project.
ReplyDeleteHow hilarious! I have the original of this exact pattern that I am making up for the first time. I saw this post, thought it looked JUST like my pattern, and your pattern number is the same as the original one minus the brand.
ReplyDeleteNice fabric choices! :)
I LOVE it! The colors are beautiful.
