Perhaps when I was 4 years old, along side a mermaid and a veterinarian.
But it's a very eye catching post title, isn't it? :D

I finally had my hair in a situation where I could wear the bonnet.
I like the look but want to make the crown a bit larger next time.
I've also got most of my flapper dress completed. Just hand sewing left to do. I've also been thinking about what I'm going to be doing next. I was ironing about 10 of my run around shirts and in the process skimmed my current wardrobe. I remember saying something on my blog that I didn't want to have clothing in my closet that needed alterations. You know the feeling. You are going out, or just getting ready for the day and other than side stepping something that might need ironing, you forgo an article of clothing because you have to either hem it, it needs a fix, or some other innate thing. The more I looked, the more things I saw that I wanted to fix. I was surprised.
I haven't kept my word to myself of not holding onto things that needed fixin'. I had a lot of stuff that needed fixin' and tons of creative solutions for it.
It's time.
Also with this years Make & Mend, I want to do some homemade patterns with draping, go over how to adjust patterns, and answer some questions I've been emailed on the subject. It should be fun!
So everyone get your supplies ready, make your dress form, catalog what you want to mend and repair, and buy some muslin because we are going to be working hard again! This week I'll be putting together the time line and cheerleading all those who wish to sew along with me.
Go team go!
I am so badly in need of M&M...I feel guilty just thinking about it. It will definitely help my MMJune.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say that I find you very beautiful with your hair this way and your bonnet :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I will participate in your M&M but I certainly will read with pleasure.
Your post title cracked me up, but that's because you might wanna look up Unicorn on urbandictionary.

I second Litchi, such pretty photos. If I wasn't so madly busy I'd love to do your sew along, looking forward to a good read-along though. I know exactly what you mean about stuff in the wardrobe that need fixin! I have more than you can shake a needle at, some day....!
ReplyDeleteI dont keep up on what the kids are saying, Nicki. Um, I guess thats the reason why :)
ReplyDeleteAnd Litchi and Betty, I dont want to hear how you cant join in, ladies! Come on! Everyone has some mending to do, lets get to it! :D
I just found your blog and Etsy store. As a seller of vintage clothing, I know how difficult it is to find great vintage in plus sizes. Thank you for offering patterns to make your own at home. I am linking to you on my Facebook page!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
