Happy Monday everyone!
As I transition from my fun and depressing depression era fashion interest, I want to get lively with some fun 40s styles for summer. What better way to do that than to introduce a new repro pattern!
This pattern actually dates from the late 30s. 1938 to be exact. But fear not, its got all those grand transition flares that funnel right into the fab 40s.
The biggest accent on this dress is the bodice. Its bias cut, cross over, and looped at the collar bone to create an amazing accent at the neckline. The pattern is a 42 bust, 36 waist and 45 hip.
As for finishing up my dust bowl sewing, I've completed most of the sewing on the flapper dress. I've got to hem the skirt and sleeves. More on that tomorrow. I also have to make up an under dress for it. That should not take too long either. I tried it on the other day and I really like the look. It will totally work for summer.
That's about it for now. I hope everyone has a great week.
Very cute!
