These are some of the most awesomest theme songs of cartoons from my childhood. These are not all the toons I watched as a kid, not even close, but these are the ones with the best theme songs.
Pole Position probably being one of my all time favorites, but most of these cartoons I have on DVD.
I have a Thundercats belt buckle on my keychain!
All my friends want to borrow my Jem and the Holograms DVDs. I don't loan them out :) I loved this show because it was one of the only cartoons I can recall where the characters had wardrobe changes. And who wouldn't want a purple haired boyfriend named Rio!?
I was such a My Little Pony Girl, you would not believe. NO Barbies, but over 100 ponies I still have. To this day I lament not getting Paradise Estate.
This theme song was my ring tone for about a year.
Loved this show. For me this one holds a special place in my heart. As a kid, it was the first toon I can recall seeing a black person in charge of the good people. Plus that zoom out at the very beginning intrigued me!
Pinwheel was the first show on the Nickelodeon network, and one of the most magical things I'd ever seen.
I'm not joking when I say this was one of the most excellent children's shows ever made.
And last but not least, Banana Man.
Have a great Saturday all!
Fun post. Also interesting because I've not seen most of the American cartoons (they were never shown in Australia).

Today's Special!! I swear I am the only kid in my generation who watched the reruns of this. No one EVER knows what I'm talking about!
ReplyDeleteJem is actually back on t.v - this has been very exciting for my daughters and I. It's on a channel called The Hub.
ReplyDeleteEven tho I was much older when most of those came out. I likes me some Lion-o! Thundercats rock it!!

Today's Special was fantastic, Rueby! I loved how Muffy's house just kept getting bigger and bigger each season!
ReplyDeleteRegena, I watch School House Rock! all the time. I pop in the DVD and put it on shuffle. It kills me that you cant find amazing cartoons like that today.
Hilarious! I wasn't born until 1988 so I've only seen one or two of these.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, Today's Special. I still remember the two-parter where they all had to move out and then Muffy the mouse bonked into the wall and some plaster fell off and they found the plaque that said when the building was built. The Eighties were a truly strange time.
ReplyDeleteAnd BANANAMAN!! I didn't even realize that one was real, I thought I had just imagined a banana-fueled superhero!!!
