Geeze, no post since Tuesday!? I am one mega lame blogger, ain't I?
Rest assured, it's not solely because I'm lazy. I've been sewing, a lot as a matter of fact, just nothing cool. I've been doing a lot of alterations and fixes of things for friends. I recently has an, "I invite you over so I can get your alterations measured because I'm sick of hearing how you lovely people need to get stuff to me to fix," day, and although a few people came (more later to day as a matter of fact), man, do folks need stuff fixed!
I've got a good 10+ hours of mending in the waits, and sewing is how I pay for dancing.

Such a vicious cycle!
Through getting home, squeezing in some sewing and then hopping off to dance class, I have managed to set up most of my sewing area, and with that, I bought myself a treat.
I have wanted this ironing board for probably 4 years now. MUHAHAHAHAHAAA!! It's mine!!
I can now use my super heavy vintage steam iron too! No more table top iron (except for ironing out vintage pattern pieces). I'm moving up, people. I'm moving up.
I haven't used either yet. But I plan to this afternoon. I have some costuming pieces to make. Nothing big, but I need to get them done today. See, that is how busy I've been! Look!
These pillows have been sitting on my floor for two weeks, pillowcase-less. I can't even get my stuff together to make pillow cases! Oh what has happened! :)
So in the small time I have had, I've been doing some experimental things.
Thought I could suede my own shoes. Huge fail.
I put clipping of one fancy, my wax plant in water and lo and behold, they were ready to be planted! When did this happen!
But I'm itchin' to get back on that skirt. So that is what I will be making myself sew on next.
I haven't checked in with you guys. What are you all working on now?
Okay, I have to get ready for a vintage expo at the Egyptian Theater later this afternoon (pics of that for sure).
Have a great Saturday!
you've been a busy little critter, haven't you!
ReplyDeletethanks for the funny. I remember Roger Miller from when i was a kid and ray stevens too. LOL
It has been mending time. The people in my house who have been waiting for their (boring) projects are now satisfied. I cannot decide which I resent more: pillows or curtains, both on the top of the honey-do pile. And now that they are done, back to the shiny green party dress! And kudos to your body double on wheels, as well as the curtain backdrop setup. Looks good, the red is a good reference color.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been sewing, I've had an exam to study for. I took the machine to the shop for some tlc so I'd have to be good :-D. Yesterday I actually stitched a few seams on two four-gore skirts for spring. Not very exciting, but I think they will get a lot of use.
ReplyDeleteYou look stunning in that dress!
