Okay...lets move onto blouses.

Hello lovely people.

I'm off my game. I don't know what it is, if its stress or not, but my sewing is not at my usual standards.
Damn dresses.

Twice I've tried and twice the dress is too big and ill fitting. I really, really need to go back and look at my muslin (again), and the drape of the skirt because I'm getting that blasted 'pointed' drape thing at the sides. I hate that. The angle of the seam is too sharp. I'll have to soften it.

But, in other news, I've decided to move onto blouses. I was looking in my closets and everything, and I do mean everything, is either too big, too hot or too, just too. It's May, for heaven's sake, and I'm still wearing sweaters. Why? Because I'm strange. Oh, I'm really strange.

I need to 'feminine' it up a bit more when it comes to separates. Plus, I love wearing skirts in hot weather. Give a good breeze down there, if you know what I mean. I need some basic A line skirts and some nice tops to go over them. So... I'm back to my original wrap dress pattern, the blouse addition.

I know, I know. It's just that it's fast, it's cute, and it fits my figure. Plus, like a lot of the sweaters I wear (or have dyed) it wraps because I seem to not be able to get a grasp on my size changing despite al the measuring I'm doing.

I'm working with some cotton lawns (the brown one is 40s) and some light rayons. Super drapey, super light, and great for summer. If I work at it, I can knock one out in a say.

The thing with lawn is that if I do it right, I'm going to bias tape the edges. I think that's why I like this pattern so much, it's got no collar so it's easy to make.

Ugh. When did I go from having a close(s) full of clothes to no clothes at all?
Oh well, sewing awaits, but after I troll netflix for Korean dramas :)  (I love those!).

Have a great day!

You know, I've been going through the same thing. For some reason, my mojo is off. I've tried to make a blouse or two for the warmer weather and somehow things just don't add up. Its really annoying because I want really want to make some items and I just don't like the way things turn out. I need to make a few basic skirts and blouses also.

You snuck in that comment about Korean Dramas! I love them too. What are you currently watching? My daughter, who introduced me to them, is home and we are watching two: Heart Strings, and The Gu Family Album. (Daughter is in the USAF and on her way to Korea.)

I just finished the Korean version of Boys over Flowers. Id watched the anime, and the live action Japanese show version. The Korean version's cast was distractingly attractive, especially the women. The lead guy's mom was stunning, its ridiculous how beautiful she was.

Put that dress aside; it's taunting you. Maybe take the muslin apart and cut from that? No, just put it aside. My trouble is: inappropriate undergarments. No slips that fit, a blouse that needs a camisole and where the hell did my camisoles go?

Just finished Heartstrings. Really refreshing to see a heroine who wasn't stupid and falling over a boy, but strong and independent, and a hero who was not a tool.
