Catalog Sunday
This Sunday I'm feeling pretty 30s. This is a pattern catalog from the lovely mail order company, Marian Martin. There is no date on the catalog, which is a tad oversized, but judging by the styles, I'd gestimate from 1932-1933.
That first dress with the scalloped detail is so gorgeous! I also love that last image with all those green, mint and turquoise tones together - wouldn't have thought of green and turquoise together but now I'm thinking it's a great combination for a two-tone top or dress!
Wouldn't it be wonderful to go into a shop and be able to buy these, and not some ghastly modernised version either, no doubt cut to just below one's behind, but the real thing. Dream on!

ReplyDeleteBoy, I'd love to make one of each! That would be an amazing wardrobe. We can dream, I guess.
