Whew!

I got started and finished early. 

I put up a wreath on my front door over the long weekend.

New Pattern Day Yay!!!

Happy Friday one and all.

Hope your weekend is planned with new and wondrous things. I am going on a walking tour on Saturday, and meeting a friend for lunch on Sunday. In between that I'm going to be sewing. But more on that later. I have some etsy store updates to share.

I have a new repro out. This dress is probably going to be my only late 40s dress. Its a great yoke front with a shawl collar. I've made this a couple of times, and gotten so many compliments on the pattern design that I decided to repro it.

I've got the PDF of Dos and Donts for the Plump Girl up in the shop. It's 50 pages of tips for the stout lady to dress for success.

As for the sewing I'm planning on doing, I just reworked my pants pattern and cut and serged another pair of jeans.

I think I'm also going to finally work on this blouse. I've been meaning to make it for a long time.

I'm also thinking of working on the mock up for this number, but as a blouse. 

I really like the yoke on this.

Those are my plans for the weekend. I'm curious myself to see how much I get done.

Still unpacking...

Oh man. I had it all planned. This weekend was going to be the end of my unpacking. I was gonna knock some out on Friday night, then Saturday and Sunday it was going to be a home run (or should I say touch down considering the weekend it was) in getting all the rest of the bit put away. Well...

Put up the spice shelves in the kitchen.

December Pattern Showcase!!

I for one have some great things happening this year.
I'm moving! I got a great super large one bedroom that I will be
moving into in a couple of weeks. I'll post more pictures on that soon.

As far as patterns, I've been so decadent in my collecting this past month. 

It was Christmas after all. 

I posted some patterns here, but here are some more from my monthly hoard.

'Sew-Knit' patterns are hard to find, but alas,
 this one does not have the knitting instructions.

August Pattern Showcase!!

It's a coat and dress. Rare yes, but still, that's an expensive pattern.

March Pattern Showcase!

This past month (and last month for that matter) has seen a ginormous spike in pattern prices, especially pattern lots. Granted, there have been a few choice lots out there, but I saw a rather lame 50s lot go for $250+. Whatever.

November Pattern Showcase!

This month there was a HUGE spike in pricing.

I didn't think I'd be able to get any new acquisitions. But you know me. A month without some new patterns is like....a month without some new patterns.

I thought this pattern below was interesting.

Apparently this 'placket' was patented and the maker of this pattern was legally only allowed to make this dress six times using this placket. I wonder how they were going to enforce that. In any case this pattern is still in it's factory folds.

Perhaps the lady was too afraid to attempt it....

I love finding patterns with older women on the covers. They are hard to come by.

This pattern was my splurge of the month.

I really want to make this man's shirt. As a wedding present for some friends of mine, I told the wife I'd make her a two piece dress suit, and hubby a tailored dress shirt. The dress suit I can do in my sleep, but I'm very interested in the construction of men's clothing.

I love this blouse. It's the look those 80's does 40's blouses tried to mimic, but there is an authenticity about this one that can't be duplicated.

It's rad.
