The weather has been overcast here leading to some evenly lit days. Often, when I'm walking Brian, I look around y neighborhood at all the cool 30s and 40s architecture from the old Hollywood days.

I love the cool crisp lines. I actually like deco more so than nouveau.
There are hundreds of pages, all captioned and most with a bit of history. Thank you! This is a great way to just loose yourself in the sleek design of yummy deco!

Art Deco Miracle Mile Walking Tour
A couple of weeks ago a friend invited me to a walking tour presented by the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles. The subject of the tour was the Miracle Mile, a section of Wilshire Blvd. that in it's day was the destination shopping, business, and residential mecca.

Queen Mary weekend 2011 pt 1
Yeah, I've been MIA this past weekend.
Wow, did this year's Queen Mary weekend sneak up on me. As you all recall last year I planned exhaustively for the weekend. I worked on my wardrobe for weeks, but this year I decided to go a more casual route and I'm glad for it. I took three dresses, one coat and few accessories and some jeans and a blouse. It was perfect.
