I decided to get off my arse and take another crack at this Simplicity pattern. I know a lot of people find it hard to rework a failed attempt. I'm totally one of them, but I really like this pattern and seeing as how my mock up fit so well, I decided after a few alterations I'm good to go.

August Showcase!

Hi everyone. I hope the last days of August have been good for you. Me? It's been a strange.

Apparently my phone line provider (the one that carries my DSL) disconnected my phone line AFTER I paid them. Well, they didn't just disconnect the line, they terminated my DLS service, which is ran by another company! WTF! Who does that! In any account, my DSL tried to remedy the situation by terminating AT&Ts termination request, which they did, but they also put in a new request and well, that screwed everything up. So here I sit, in the hall of my building on mooched wi-fi on the lame battery of my laptop. I'm looking at two weeks until my service is reinstated. Geeze, what did I do to deserve this!?

Fashion Show Extreme!!

Hi all!

Thanks for your words on my last post. But I am done with swing dancing. 

I may look at it again next year, but I don't think so. 

I have a lot of free time now. Truthfully, I've been sleeping more this week. It's been good. I also decided to do a 10 day juice fast just to clear out my system. You can read about that a bit here.

I have spent the week going on long walks and doing some sewing. I've finished a ton of projects, some for other people and some for me.

Calico dress commission.

 I love my followers. You all are the most supportive and interested folks I've come across. I'm happy that you all get what you do from my ramblings, and it thrills me when you seek me out and trust me with a garment to make.

One of my readers/etsy customers commissioned me for a dress. The event she wanted to wear it to was a WWII even in her town. She was frustrated with the lack of items in her size, and wanted a nice respectful period dress. 

I was the person to call.

Well lookie here, I'm blogging again!

I wish I could say that I took a 'brake' of some sort, but life just kept going. I for one wanted to zip lock myself and just hide out in the freezer for a month suspended in time so I could collect my thoughts and pause for a bit. I've wanted to do that for a while, but alas, the foreverware version of Eerie Indiana isn't real, yet...

Day Project: Quilted potholders for my Granny!

What a lovely afternoon it is!

I'm at home right now, sewing since 8:30. 

You see, about 6 years ago, I made quilted potholders one Christmas for family and friends. I was talking to my Granny a few weeks ago and she asked if I could make her another one.

"You are still using it!?" I said in disbelief.

"I use it nearly everyday."

Now, I can't tell you how awesome that made me feel, "Of course I'll make you another one!"
