Hi all!
Thanks for your words on my last post. But I am done with swing dancing.
I may look at it again next year, but I don't think so.
I have a lot of free time now. Truthfully, I've been sleeping more this week. It's been good. I also decided to do a 10 day juice fast just to clear out my system. You can read about that a bit here.
I have spent the week going on long walks and doing some sewing. I've finished a ton of projects, some for other people and some for me.
These dresses and other things I made them all for my size transitioning and dancing are held together by just two buttons and some elastic button loops.
This skirt made of cotton sateen I sewed a pannel into it that connected to the side of the skirt that would keep it closed, kinda. It's more for security than anything and I've gotten some great feedback from this skirt.
This blouse I made based off the dresses below. I shortened the skirt and made it an overblouse. It fastened only with two buttons. Yes, I'm in my slip.
This dress I like. You's think it would be very conservative by the pattern, but I think it's a great 40s dress with lovely drapes. This dress too closes with two buttons!
This last dress I adore. It turned out so good and here I am being stupid in an animated GIF :)
Okay, I gotta get back to work now. Have a great day!
Love the wrap dresses (and separates). Good luck with the juice fast!
ReplyDeleteI love the last dress. Well done!
ReplyDeleteLovely pieces! I love the animation. I barely have the skills to get a picture of what I sew without chopping off my head, I'd love to be able to make that! :]
ReplyDeleteThese are all gorgeous pieces, but I absolutely love the blue patterned wrap dress! What a flattering drape.
ReplyDeleteLove the wrap dresses and the skirts...
ReplyDeleteWhat patterns did you use? Those are sooo cute, and would work well for me, too.
ReplyDeleteLove the fashion show! You look great. And two words about the swing dancing community--their loss. Anyone with so much passion for the dance is an asset--hope you find a venue for your art soon.
ReplyDeleteThose dresses are amazing. WOW. I also really like that you turned the dress into separates. Such a good idea.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love it all! What is the fabric for the last one? It really is cute.
ReplyDeleteI really think the wrap is so flattering, and have actually been looking for a vintage pattern skirt wrap with a drape that would have a little more A-line.
Thanks everyone! All the clothes are cotton. That's how I roll. :)
