Good morning lovely people.
I've made great progress on my Simplicity and thought I'd share some of the photos.
Here is a look at the fabric I choose for this first go. A brown light cotton with lavender and turquoise flowers. I really like it and though its a bit darker than what I would normally do for a summer dress, I could not believe how well the rick rack I had matched! I have like 100 yards of this stuff! I got it because it's all cotton and light, so I could dye it.
Can their be such a thing as too much rick rack? Yes, but I don't think this is it.
Actually, that second ring of rick rack is accidental. I meant to sew the detail ring sandwiched in with the yoke inset but simply forgot. So I improvised. I think it's going to work well, so I'm not too upset about my mistake.
Speaking of mistakes, I finally got around to re-dyeing my blue sweater again.
I dyed it purple and it looks great.
Here I am wearing it out this past Wednesday with friends. There was wine involved :)
It worked well with my beret.
I hope to have the dress done by next week. If so...fashion show!!
Have a great weekend!
Oh, I can't wait to see the finished product. I have SImplicity 3701 and I'd like to see what you do with it.
